Remembering Billy Bear’s Playground. Making room for a new chapter.

A LEGACY OF PLAYFUL LEARNING

A little bear.
A world of imagination.

Billy Bear’s Playground was a place for children to explore animated storybooks, enjoy fun activities online, and discover free downloads. It brought stories, creativity, and learning together for children, families, and teachers.

IN LOVING MEMORY

Rainie Hoerig Wauer

Also known as Loraine Wauer Ferus (Hoerig)
December 29, 1953 – November 23, 2012

An artist and educational creator, Rainie brought her love of bears, storytelling, and discovery into Billy Bear’s world. Her work invited children to learn through play and offered families and educators resources to share.

This page honors the woman behind Billy Bear: her imagination, her generosity, and the joy she put into creating for children. Her daughter, Sonja L. Howell, Ph.D. (Sunny), carries that family legacy forward through Tranquil Studio.
